What Is Nightpoint.io?

Nightpoint.io is a top-down multiplayer shooter set in a pixel-art city overrun by zombies. You begin with a basic gun, earn experience through combat, and develop a stronger survivor while trying to stay alive. The undead are only part of the danger: other players can attack while you are busy clearing a crowd.

Its appeal comes from balancing two threats at once. Farming zombies helps you grow, but chasing every kill can leave you trapped or exposed to a better-equipped rival.

How to Play Nightpoint.io

Build up your survivor

Choose a name and skin, then enter a match. Defeating enemies raises your score and opens upgrades. Improve movement speed, health, regeneration, or accuracy as options become available, and advance beyond the starting pistol to stronger weapons.

Keep moving while aiming independently with the mouse. Leave room to retreat when a crowd approaches; being squeezed between zombies and another survivor is harder to escape than either threat alone.

FFA or team objectives

In FFA, survive and compete for a higher position on the leaderboard. Other survivors are potential enemies, even when they are shooting the same zombies as you.

Teams adds a capture-the-flag objective: take the opposing flag to your team's spawn to score. Protect the return route as well as the flag itself. A dropped flag returns to the enemy spawn after 30 seconds, so an interrupted run creates only a short recovery window.

Nightpoint.io Controls

  • W A S D: Move.
  • Move Mouse: Aim.
  • Left Click: Shoot.
  • Space: Dash.
  • 1 2 3 4: Select the corresponding available stat upgrade.

Follow the upgrade options shown on screen. The number keys select upgrades rather than acting as a standard weapon hotbar.

Nightpoint.io Survival Tips

  • Grow before forcing a duel. Use manageable zombie fights to earn early upgrades instead of charging a survivor with a stronger gun.
  • Watch the route behind you. While backing away and firing, check that a wall or a second crowd is not cutting off your retreat.
  • Dash toward space. Use the burst of movement to leave an encirclement rather than rushing deeper into it.
  • Upgrade the weakness you notice. Speed helps when you cannot create distance; health and regeneration help when repeated small hits end your run.
  • Escort a flag carrier. In Teams, clear the route back to spawn instead of leaving the teammate with the flag to fight alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play Nightpoint.io offline against zombies?

The documented game is an online multiplayer shooter, even though it includes AI zombies. It needs a connection to a game server; this page does not provide a separate offline campaign.

Is Nightpoint.io suitable for touchscreen play?

Its documented controls require a keyboard and mouse. Use a desktop or laptop for this version; mobile touch controls are not confirmed.

What should I do if the game won't load, lags, shows a blank screen, or won't start?

Try one of these four steps:

  • Clear your browser cache, then reload the game.
  • Open the game in an incognito or private browsing window.
  • Try a different browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
  • On the game cover, click Primary in the top-right corner and select a different game source, if available.
What should I do if matchmaking stays on "Connecting" or the loading circle keeps spinning?

Matchmaking can take longer when fewer players are online or when servers are busy. A persistent "Connecting" message can also indicate a connection or server issue. Try these options:

  • Recommended: on the game cover, use the source selector in the top-right corner (usually labeled Primary) to try another available game source. This may help if the current source is having connection issues, but different sources may share the same matchmaking servers. If no other source is available, try the options below.
  • Browse Similar Games on this site and try a similar game while you wait.
  • Choose a Single Player game that does not require matchmaking. PvE games may also be suitable, but check that they support solo play: a PvE tag alone does not guarantee single-player or offline play.
